Knowing how many houseplants
Have died over the last few years
Who would have thrived
With the right kind of light.
You would have thrived here,
I think that’s the hardest part –
Making light of your absence
Like I’m not still praying for you.
I would have liked
To see spring together.
I pray you find
The right kind of light,
Something worth rooting for.
